Alex Cunningham MP for Stockton North today welcomed the news that INEOS Bio is to build Europe’s first bioethanol from waste plant at the Seal Sands site in Stockton North.
Reacting to the announcement, Alex said:
“I am delighted that this project has been given the go ahead, creating 350 construction jobs and over 40 permanent skilled roles for local people.
This is an innovative and exciting technology and I am proud that INEOS Bio has chosen Teesside to develop this bioethanol plant. Once again we are leading the way when it comes to the low carbon economy
The £7.3 million grant from One North East and the Department for Energy and Climate Change is to be warmly welcomed.”
