Alex highlights Big Lottery Fund

Local MP Alex Cunningham recently met with representatives from the Big Lottery Fund and is highlighting various grants available to organisations in Stockon North.

The Big Lottery Fund delivers half of all funds raised for good causes by the National Lottery with a commitment that at least 80% of funding across the UK will go directly to the voluntary and community sector.

Alex said:
“The Big Lottery Fund offers great opportunities to projects connected to health, education, environment and charitable purposes, with a focus on improving communities and the lives of people most in need.

I know that many organisations in Stockton North have already benefited from the Big Lottery Fund. For example, A Way Out has received a grant of nearly £300,000 to support at risk women and hard to reach people living in deprivation.

But I understand the area is not getting a fair share because not enough applications are forthcoming. Grants range from hundreds of pounds to hundreds of thousands of pounds and I would encourage anyone interested to contact the Big Lottery Fund advice line on 0845 410 2030 for more information.”
