Big Lottery Fund scheme extended

  • Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham has welcomed the news that the deadline for applications for the Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Heroes Return 2’ scheme has been extended to 31st January 2012.

The Heroes Return 2 scheme provides Lottery funding to help World War Two veterans that saw active service to take part in commemorative visits to mark the anniversary of events that led to the end of WWII.

War widows and widowers of veterans are also eligible for funding and carers and spouses can receive funding to travel with veterans. Grants of £150 to £5,500 are available, depending on the number of people taking part and destination.

Alex, who is supporting this scheme, said:

“I encourage any WWII veterans who are interested in this scheme to apply. I am told 50,000 veterans have already benefitted from Heroes Return Grant Schemes.

Anyone who would like more information about the scheme can contact my constituency office on 01642 345 291.”
