Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham has received a reassurance from Northumbrian Water over last month’s incident at Lustrum Beck.
The Environment Agency categorised the incident, in which sewage flowed into the Beck, as ‘serious’.
Alex wrote to Northumbrian Water to raise his concerns and ask for a reassurance that such an incident would not happen again.
He has received a response which states that the Combined Sewer Overflows on Lustrum Beck have been checked and operational visits have been increased to reduce the risk of any possible reoccurrence of this incident.
“I am confident that Northumbrian Water have taken this very seriously and are doing all they can to ensure Lustrum Beck does not suffer from pollution of this type in the future.”
