Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham has today welcomed the news that his constituents in High Clarence will soon have access to Post Office services, having been without a local Post Office for more than seven months.
The Post Office is proposing to trial a local Post Office Service which will operate at Clarences Community Resource Centre on the High Street.
Alex congratulated local people and organisations who had worked together to secure the services and said:
“High Clarence Post Office closed in October last year despite protests from local residents and myself.”
“The new service will be trialled over the next 12 months and I very much hope will become a permanent service for local people.”
“I am told the new service is expected to be up and running by August this year and I hope local people will make good use of the service to ensure the continued presence of Post Office Services in the community.”
