The Chief Executive of Whitbread has told local MP Alex Cunningham that plans for the occupation of the former Swallow Hotel building will be known by June.
Alex wrote to Whitbread in March asking for an update on the site which has been vacant for more than a year.
“I am very pleased that progress seems to be being made and hopeful that the site will have a new occupant in the near future”, Alex said today.
“People in Stockton deserve to know what is happening to the building which is in a prime location in the town centre, especially as there are now such impressive plans to regenerate the High Street. It would be a real shame if this site was left vacant when it has such potential.”
