A Norton resident who is going on a 480 mile walk to raise money for a local charity has been praised by Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham.
Paul Burgum will walk from the Orkney Islands to Billingham in support of Bridges Stockton, a charity that supports families of people with drug and alcohol problems.
“I know Paul works really hard for the local community through his own charity, BCT Events.
“The tragic murder of his uncle last year has inspired him to take on this impressive challenge, relying on the kindness of strangers to provide him with food and accommodation during his 480 mile walk.
“I have a huge amount of admiration for Paul and I am confident that local people will dig deep to support his endeavour.”
