Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham today welcomed the very positive report on standards of care for older people from the Care Quality Commission at the University Hospital of Hartlepool which serves people across North Teesside.
The hospital was one of 100 across the country which underwent a spot inspection by the Commission and was found to meet the essential standards of care for older people and won many accolades from satisfied patients.
Alex, a former Non Executive of the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, said positive reports are important to doctors, nurses and all other staff who have a role to play in delivering quality care to elderly patients.
“I’m pleased to see the Trust continues to strive for improvements in the way it delivers services to patients across the area. I’m particularly pleased to see the compliments from patients in the report who clearly feel at ease and well looked after at the University Hospital,” he said.
“It is extremely important that whilst other areas may be experiencing problems, the hospitals and staff who are performing well aren’t forgotten.”
