Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham is hoping to develop links with local manufacturing companies involved with the UK defence system.
Alex said:
“It is extremely important to develop and strengthen UK industry and the wider supply chain so that we are able to deliver and support the needs of our armed forces.
“The scale of the cuts of skilled jobs at BAe and the decision of the government not to award the Thameslink contract to Bombardier in Derby has already seen UK industry hit hard – but it isn’t just the large companies who will have been hit by these decisions. Down the supply chain smaller manufacturers and service companies will also have suffered as a result of these job losses.
“I’m therefore very keen to build up an idea of defence contractors or suppliers within the Stockton North constituency and how they have been affected by the Government’s decisions.”
