Alex MP supports Big Energy Saving Week

Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham helped staff at Stockton & District Advice & Information Service (SDAIS) and Stockton Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) to promote Big Energy Saving Week, dressing as “Captain Energy” for the occasion.

Big Energy Saving Week, which runs from 22-27 October 2012, is a national campaign run by Citizens Advice to help people cut their fuel bills and receive all the financial support they are entitled to.

With energy costs rising, people are looking for ways to better manage their energy bills.  Big Energy Saving Week will provide people with advice on the simple steps that can be taken to lower energy bills and manage household budgets.

Stockton CAB is running one of 400 Big Energy Saving Week events across Britain from 22-26 October 2012.  Alex is urging Stockton North constituents to stop by to get advice between 09:30-14:30 at Horizons, 1 Bridge Road, Stockton-on-Tees.

Alex said:

“I am pleased to support Big Energy Saving Week, being run nationally by Citizens Advice.  With households across the country feeling the squeeze as gas and electricity prices continue to rise, steps to lower energy bills are a welcome measure.  I would urge residents in my Stockton North constituency to get in touch with either Horizons or SDAIS during Big Energy Saving Week to ensure that they are not paying more for their energy than they have to.”
