Alex encourages Big Lottery applications from Stockton North community groups

The National Lottery Big Lottery Fund is now open for applications, and Stockton North MP, Alex Cunningham is encouraging local community groups, schools and other charitable bodies, to bid for funding.

The Big Lottery Fund uses money raised by National Lottery players to support communities in realising their ambitions, and £37 billion has been generated for good causes since 2004. The funding falls into two categories – ‘National Lottery Awards for All’ and ‘Reaching Communities’:

  • National Lottery Awards for All: open to community and voluntary organisations, schools, and statutory bodies and for bids up to £10,000;
  • Reaching Communities: providing funding between £10,000 and £500,000 and is open to voluntary or community groups.

The Big Lottery particularly want to hear about projects that support lasting and sustainable changes to communities, develop stronger community relationships, and tackle the root causes of social problems at the earliest possible stage.

There are some fantastic community organisations in Stockton North and I know that funding from the Big Lottery would really help them continue their good work. I’d encourage any interested organisation to call the Big Advice Line and submit a bid.

For further information and to discuss bids, applicants are advised to call the Big Advice Line on 0345 1 10 20 30.
