Alex encourages organisations to apply for Yorkshire Bank community fund

Stockton North MP, Alex Cunningham, has welcomed the announcement from Yorkshire Bank that £75,000 of funding is being made available for local community projects – and is encouraging organisations in Stockton North to apply.

The Yorkshire Bank Spirit of the Community Awards 2018 is open for applications and this year’s programme is offering a share of £75,000 – taking the total funding given out since 2013 to more than £1million. These donations are to support community projects which fall under three strands – 1) promoting a healthy relationship with money; 2) helping to improve the local environment; and 3) helping people into employment. Registered charities and not for profit organisations are invited to apply. Fifteen winners – five in each category – will be awarded £5,000 each. Yorkshire Bank’s sister organisation, Clydesdale Bank, will also award £75,000, bringing the total fund to £150,000.

Alex said:

This funding from Yorkshire Bank is to recognise the vital work charities and other community organisations do both across the country and here in Stockton North. I’m pleased to see that Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks are supporting the good work community organisations do, and encourage all Stockton North groups to apply.
