150 million pounds on offer as Alex encourages Erasmus applications

A record amount of Erasmus+ funding is available for organisations in Stockton North, and Alex Cunningham MP is encouraging them to apply.

Two deadlines are fast approaching – one for education and training partnerships, including school exchanges, and one on activities in the youth sector. Erasmus+ funding enables UK participants to go abroad, study, work, volunteer, teach or train. Every year around 27,000 students and young people benefit from a volunteering experience abroad. A UK budget of around £150m is available for 2018.

Alex said:

The evidence is clear that students and young people that take part in Erasmus+ face lower unemployment; are more likely to gain management positions, and have higher academic attainment. This is a great opportunity for young people in the Stockton North constituency to gain valuable training and volunteering experience.

I’d encourage any organisation in the constituency to take advantage of this record amount of funding, and put an application in.

The funding is open to schools, further and higher education, adult education and youth organisations. The next deadlines for applications are 21 March for exchanging best practice in education and training and 26 April for all youth sector activities.
