Alex encourages nominations to the Kids Count Inspiration Awards

Nominations are being sought for the 2018 Kids Count Inspiration Awards, and Stockton North MP, Alex Cunningham, is encouraging entries from the constituency.

Kids Count Inspiration Awards take place at the House of Commons on 9 November, and will recognise those individuals – young and old – and organisations that have been responsible for inspiring young people in their communities. Awards will be given to those who have made a positive difference to young people’s lives, with previous winners including an organisation providing sports-based activities to children in one of the most deprived wards in inner-city London.

Our young people deserve every opportunity to thrive regardless of where they are from or socio-economic situation, and I know that in every community across Stockton North there are organisations and individuals who work day-in and day-out to provide those opportunities. While they don’t do it for the glory, we should take the time to recognise the great work they do – and the Kids Count Inspiration Awards is just one way to do that.

“That’s why I’m encouraging schools, colleges and other organisations or individuals to put forward nominations to the awards, to give Stockton North a good showing – but also highlight the good work being carried out for young people in our area.

The closing date for nominations is the 5 November. More information can be found at www.kidscount.org.uk or from Linda Lawrence, Linda@kidscountorg.uk
