The Sport and Recreation Alliance is holding its Community Sports and Recreation Awards, and Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham is encouraging local organisations to self-nominate.
The awards celebrate grassroots sport and recreation for over twenty years, and champion grassroots work on a national scale, using examples of best practice to drive positive, societal change. Categories for the awards are: Community Engagement, Creative Partnerships, Mental Health, Volunteering, and Youth Development. The Awards will be held next March, with each winner receiving £1000.
Alex said:
It is well known that grassroots sport organisations do vital work in promoting community cohesion, tackling social isolation, and getting people fit and active – and I know there are many fantastic sports groups here in Stockton North.
These awards are a great way to celebrate the work local clubs and groups do – and offer the chance to win a cash prize – and I’d encourage groups from Stockton North to apply
Nominations close on 25 November.
