Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham is backing the North East War Memorial Project’s website appeal, and is encouraging your support.
The project which lists 4,865 War Memorials on its database is looking to raise £45,000 to fund a new bespoke, and more importantly up-to-date, website.
Since 1988 the North East War Memorial Project has worked with Heritage England, Civic Voice and other groups and organisations to deliver workshops, assist in events and provide resources to help in the study of war memorials.
It has also helped many people to re-discover their relatives’ names on local War Memorials.

“The North East War Memorial Project provides a valuable service in both preserving the memory of the many war memorials across the region, and by supporting local people to find their relatives. It’s a much used and respected resources, and I hope people will be able to support its work in to the future”
