Alex supports Anti-Bullying campaign and urges schools to get involved

Stockton North MP, Alex Cunningham, is supporting the Diana Award’s Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Programme and is writing to all schools in Stockton North asking them to sign up.

The Diana Award’s Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Programme provide young people, teachers and school staff, and parents with training and confidence to tackle bullying in the school place and beyond.

Over 31,000 young people and 3,000 schools in England and Wales signed up to the programme. Young people on the Programme are trained to provide peer to peer support and lead on anti bullying initiatives.

With more and more young people telling us that they have experienced bullying in the classroom or elsewhere, it is vital that we do all we can to challenge bullies and make schools a safe environment for all children.

The Diana Award’s Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme is a great initiative that provides young people with the skills and confidence to take the lead in anti-bullying campaigns and sends a message that bullying is simply unacceptable.
