Alex praises community spirit of local hairdressers

Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham visited Kutting Korner Hairdressers in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees last week to recognise the salon’s charity work after the local business was shortlisted for the National Hairdressers Federation and the National Beauty Federation’s Hair & Beauty Community Awards. At the visit, Alex heard all about the fundraising Kutting Korner had completed to support a local resident who has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

Kutting Korner Hairdressers has continued to fundraise for charities since the business was announced as a finalist in the Community Awards. The Stockton-on-Tees salon has chosen to support a different charity each month, starting with Harbour, a women’s refuge charity and Dogs Trust.

I was delighted to visit Kutting Korner and meet with Cheryl and team. Their dedication to the local community, and work they put into the fundraising efforts is fantastic – being shortlisted for these awards is a well deserved recognition for their great work.

It was fantastic speaking to Alex and to have him recognise our fundraising efforts. He was very interested in hearing about our local charity work, which has motivated us to keep going with everything we do. Watch this space for the exciting projects we have coming up!

The Hair & Beauty Community Awards were launched in 2019 by the National Hairdressers Federation and the National Beauty Federation (NHF/NBF) to recognise and promote the fantastic work hair salons, barbershops and beauty salons do to support their local communities.
