Responding to news that the South African variant of Covid has been identified in the TS19 area, Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham said:
“It is right that we act quickly and cautiously with any new variant of Covid-19, and I’d urge everyone over 16 in the TS19 postcode to get tested – and register it – whether they are showing symptoms or not. By doing this we will supress the virus, ensure the good work of the vaccine roll-out is maintained, and keep people safe.
“If you live in the TS19 postcode, please follow Stockton Council’s guidance and get tested. If you test positive, please self-isolate. Only by following this advice will we stop the spread of Covid-19.”
