“Residents deserve answers” about the future of Hanover Point, says Alex, as he repeats his urges for new owner to “come out into the open” and respond to queries about the building

The new owner of Hanover Point, the Glebe, must come forward and be open with residents about his intentions for the building, says Stockton North MP Alex Cunningham as two letters from the MP to Mr Razak Hussain of Hanover Social Housing Ltd continue to remain unanswered.

Notice of Hanover Point’s sale was given by previous owners Anchor Hanover last year with Alex immediately writing to new owner Mr Hussain asking for a discussion about the future of the building. Two letters later Alex’s questions – and those of local residents – remain unanswered. Stockton Council has also agreed to approach Mr Hussain seeking clarity from him on his plans for Hanover Point.

Hanover Social Housing Ltd was established in April 2022 with Mr Hussain listed as its sole director.

Alex said:

“Residents deserve answers about the future of Hanover Point, and that is what I am urging Mr Hussain to give. Sadly all I and they are getting so far is stony silence from the new owner about his intentions for the building – and it’s simply unacceptable.

“Lights in some of the apartments are on regularly suggested people either living there of other activity. It’s time for Mr Hussain and Hanover Social Housing Ltd to come out into the open and reassure residents of the Glebe and the surrounding area about the future of Hanover Point. They deserve answers.”
